Old electrical appliances, used batteries and packaging

Information on the take-back of old appliances in accordance with § 17 ff. ElektroG:

As a distributor subject to take-back obligations in accordance with § 17 ff. ElektroG, we offer you the opportunity to return the following old electrical appliances both in our tool collection store and via parcel service:

Old appliances with an edge length of less than 25 centimeters

Simply visit us (address: Heidelberger Str. 52, 68519 Viernheim) or send the old appliances to us via a parcel service.

In addition, we would like to inform you about further general information according to § 18 ff. ElektroG::

  • Never dispose of your appliances with household waste, but dispose of them separately from unsorted municipal waste. This is indicated by the crossed-out dustbin symbol.
  • This separate collection can be carried out, for example, by us as a distributor subject to the take-back obligation or, in principle, by distributors with either a sales, shipping and/or storage area of 400 m² of electrical and electronic appliances and/or by food retailers with a sales area of 800 m² who regularly offer electrical appliances, or by a public waste disposal authority.
  • Before handing in your old appliances, remove the potentially contained old batteries and lamps in a non-destructive manner and dispose of them in a designated disposal facility.
  • Please also remember to completely remove your personal data from the old appliances before handing them in.

In general, try to reuse your electrical appliances before handing them in for disposal. You can do this, for example, by taking them to a repair center and/or handing them over to appropriate reuse facilities that will refurbish them and/or pass them on to other people for further use. In this way, you conserve valuable resources, protect the environment and make an important contribution to achieving a functioning circular economy.

Information on taking back used batteries in accordance with § 18 BattG::

  • As a distributor of removable batteries, you have the option of returning used batteries of the same type as those in our portfolio to us. These will be disposed of properly.
  • Batteries contain many valuable raw materials, but also harmful substances such as mercury, lead or cadmium. You will find a corresponding note when looking at the crossed-out waste garbage can on the batteries and/or packaging. If the corresponding limit values for the above-mentioned substances (more than 0.002% by mass of cadmium, more than 0.0005% by mass of mercury or more than 0.004% by mass of lead) have been exceeded, you will find the corresponding abbreviations under the garbage can.
Furthermore, the symbol indicates that used batteries must not be disposed of with household waste, but must be handed in at designated collection points.
  • These collection points include, in particular, distributors that sell the same batteries that you wish to dispose of. It is also possible to dispose of batteries at public waste disposal authorities, voluntary collection points or other distributors with similar batteries
  • By handing them in, you are making a valuable contribution to environmental protection and conserving primary raw materials.

Information on the return of used packaging in accordance with § 15 VerpackG:

In the interests of conscious recycling and the conservation of natural resources, we offer you the opportunity to return to us free of charge any transport packaging (packaging that remains with you as a retailer and is not passed on - e.g. disposable pallets together with the associated stretch film, etc.) and/or packaging that does not typically accumulate as waste with private end consumers after use (e.g. packaging for electronic measuring devices). There is no obligation on your part to hand them over.
